Obesity epidemic continues to be a growing problem. From the National Health and Statistics Report of 2018: data has been showing a rather scary trend, there has been little to no increase in the average American’s height in several decades but a significant increase in weight, waist circumference, and body mass index (BMI). The chief of obesity surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, Dr. Mitchell Roslin has this to say on the issue: “This data is scary, and from a societal standpoint… This is a true public health crisis and aggressive policies are needed to begin to counteract.”
